The 7th annual Pediatric Practice Manager Conference was held at the Radisson Hotel Nashville Airport on June 19, 2009. Attended by over 50 conference registrants and representatives from 18 different vendors, the day-long conference provided valuable educational sessions conducted in a fun setting where office staff from pediatric practices across Tennessee were able to learn and network with one another. This year’s theme, “Follow the Yellow Brick Road to a More Successful Pediatric Practice”, created a theatrical environment for the featured speakers including: Joel Bradley, MD, Chip Hart, Gretchen Hoffman, Jeanne James, MD, and Kelly Moore, MD. Topics ranged from chronic disease management and effective patient recall strategies, childhood immunizations and implementing an EMR, to the concept of the medical home and a panel discussion on TennCare. The conference marked another success in this popular series of TNAAP-produced educational meetings that benefit pediatric practices across the state.
The Pediatric Practice Managers' Network (PMN) provides TNAAP members' practice managers with a professional network of colleagues to discuss crucial management issues, share pertinent experiences, increase knowledge, and improve their management skills in order to strengthen the practices in which they work. PMN conferences consist of multiple sessions with expert presenters, peer-led workshops, networking opportunities, and group discussions.
